We have servers run by MIT, CCC, Pixiv, Dwango, La Quadrature and various pirate parties. We need more stuff like that. Imagine a Wikimedia server. Or Canonical.

I reimplemented the monthly customer report generation from MS Word with ugly macros into LaTeX with ugly bash/makefile scripting. My colleagues are very happy with it, though. Now they, too, can use vim and git for reports.

Het EU Copyright voorstel is zeer slecht nieuws voor iedereen, zelfs (vooral!) Wikipedia
Artikelen 13 en 11 zijn slecht doordacht, slecht opgesteld, onwerkbaar en gevaarlijk.
We hebben Europarlementariërs nodig die voor EU-burgers opkomen en om betere alternatieven te introduceren, met name voor artikel 13, het meest schadelijke onderdeel van de huidige EU copyright plannen.
Hiervoor is de enige aanvaardbare oplossing het volledig verwijderen ervan.

Velen zijn van mening dat de richtlijn veeleer schade zal berokkenen dan dat ze de bescherming van het auteursrechtelijk beschermde materiaal verbetert.
Een van hen is Europarlementariër Julia Reda (Piratenpartij, Duitsland), die opmerkt dat de hervorming mogelijk geld gaat kosten (linkbelasting) door "alleen maar te linken naar een nieuwssite" en de vraag hoe dit het hele internet negatief kan beïnvloeden. "jammerlijk wordt genegeerd". #LinkTax
Dus tegen de voorgestelde #LinkTax van de EU zijn het publiek, academici, maatschappelijk organisaties, onderzoeksorganisaties en de meeste persbureaus en uitgevers.
