Thanks for reporting the masculinist bot that was spreading shitty messages from our instance. It was reported at 00h51 and removed at 00h55 but had already posted tens of toots in the meantime. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Qu'est-ce qui changerait ? En bref : plus de fonctionnalités ! L'interface reste ± la même, mais il y a beaucoup plus de paramètres. Le logiciel pourrait être un peu moins stable cependant.

Nous envisageons de migrer notre instance tootsuite Mastodon vers Glitch-soc [1].

Pourquoi ? Parce que le projet tootsuite Mastodon est actuellement géré selon le modèle du Dictateur Bienveillant à Vie (BDFL) [2], et la façon dont il est géré crée beaucoup de frustration au sein de la communauté. En tant que Pirates, nous pensons que le processus de décision est au moins aussi important que les décisions elles-mêmes.

What would change? In short : moar features! The interface remains more or less the same, but there are way more settings. It might be a bit less stable, however.

We are thinking about migrating our instance from tootsuite Mastodon to Glitch-soc [1].

Why? Because the tootsuite Mastodon project is currently run with a Benevolent Dictator for Life (BDFL) model [2], and the way it is run brings a lot of frustrations within the community. As Pirates, we think that the process of decision is at least as important as the decision itself.

Archive team has been crawling the fediverse and storing public posts. The fact that a post is public does not mean it should be permanently stored and accessible in a searchable way!

One way to tell crawlers they are not welcome is by adding a robots.txt[1]. Crawlers can still choose to ignore it, but at least they can’t say that we gave consent.
